이도은중앙SUNDAY 기자 올 초 뉴욕의 9·11 메모리얼 뮤지엄에 들렀다. 2001년 테러로 희생된 사람들을 추모하며 지난해 문 연 곳이다. 잿더미가 된 참사의 현장에서 무엇을 남길 수 있었을까. 궁금증은 이내 해결됐다. 지극히 사적이고 소소한 흔적이 기념관을 채웠다. 사고를 전해 들은 각국 사람들의 외마디, ‘사랑한다

   


Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling,
fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God
